Agenda & Proceedings:
Professional Development
- Conducting Workshop: It went well. Not everyone has had a lesson yet but will have them soon. Pei will ask Jonathan what his hourly rate is when she has her lesson. Pei will also distribute the videos to the participants. There were about five observers.
- Recording Workshop: It was a great workshop. Phil was a great presenter. It would be good to have him present again on a different topic. It was not the most attended (six total) as Lisa’s class is not happening this semester.
- Workshops: Steve Dubinksy is going to do a workshop in March. Exact date TBD. Doug’s ukulele workshop is coming up on February 18 at 18:30.
Finance
- Budget: Tabled.
- Swag: We are waiting to hear when the website will be up and running.
- Grilled Cheese Sale: We should start advertising. Pei will make a Facebook event, a poster, and a Doodle for volunteers.
Social
- YAP: Eve-Marie heard back from everyone she emailed except Marcin. Based on the majority of the responses, it will likely be Friday, March 11 around 19:00.
General
- Meeting with the Dean: It was supposed to be tomorrow but the Dean is sick so they are rescheduling.
- Elections: Min has contacted Eve-Marie wanting more information. The only position we currently don’t have someone running for is VP Academic. Forms are due February 12.
- McGill24: McGill is having a fundraising day on March 16. Each faculty has to have a project to promote and the Schulich School of Music is focusing on music education, specifically buying instruments. Their goal is $15,000 and they want our help. Elin Sonderstrom will be coming to our meeting next week to give us more details.
- Semester Proposals: Professional Development: Tabled.
Next Meeting: Same time, place TBD.
Adjournment: Doug motions to close the meeting at 18:08, Pei seconds
