Agenda & Proceedings:
VP Professional Development
- Stephane Crete Workshop: The workshop is next Wednesday at 18:00 in A-512 (approval pending).
- Alain Cazes/Jonathan Dagenais: The conducting workshop is hopefully going to be the last Thursday in January, still TBC with Alain. This gives enough time for the conductors to study the score and have a lesson with Jonathan. Kathleen will also check with Alain about how many people can be in the workshop.
VP Social
- Music Ed Goes: We went karaoke-ing. It was fun! There was a bigger turnout this time. Chris is going to advertise the one for January more so that hopefully we can get non-council people to come.
- Festivus: We got the liquor permit. David is going to go to Tim Hortons and ask for hot chocolate. We are also looking into Costco cards from either EdUS or MUSA. Chris is going to dress up as Santa. Posters need to be up, a Facebook event needs to be made, etc.
VP Communications
- Emails: Please remember to BCC when you send out a mass email. Also, we are going to make a separate alumni group on Gmail so that we can send them only relevant emails (for example, not emails about course problems).
- Enews: We made a list. Send your blurbs to Heather by Monday evening!
VP Finance
- Budget: Gill is going to make a budget for next semester with the increase in funds and grilled cheese sale. We’re going to use the money from the grilled cheese sale to cover the transportation costs.
President
- GA: Both motions were passed with a large majority. There was a good turnout. Anna Norris is everyone’s hero. We should publicize the workshops more so that they are more available to everyone. This means we have to send the workshop emails to MUSA as well so they can email it to everyone. Gill did really well speaking in the GA.
- Constitution Subcommittee: There will be a meeting next week (hopefully).
- B. Ed: They are not part of MUSA, only EdUS. But they are part of MEdUSA and they have access to practice rooms etc. We want to clarify what their position is with MUSA. We think they should be able to at least come to the GA, and possibly vote on MEdUSA related subjects.
- Jin Hee: She was proposing that someone create a kids program, kind of like what Kristen wanted to do with Pictures at an Exhibition. They would create a program around the concert that would interest the kids.
- Next Meeting: Same time same place.
Adjournment: Chris motions to close the meeting at 17:48, David and Becky second.
