Approval of Agenda: Naomi motions to approve, Eve-Marie seconds.
Agenda & Proceedings:
Social
- Welcome Back Cocktail: Eve-Marie picked up the alcohol from Lisa and bought all the food. Lisa told Eve-Marie to invite the Dean, the Associate Dean, and the music ed teachers so Eve-Marie will email. We can also start setting up early because Lisa is the one who has it booked before our event so we will start setting up at 17:30. Tanya wants to show a trailer for a documentary she made but we don’t have the method to do so. We will ask if she wants to put it in the Enews for next month.
Reports
- EdUS: See EdUS report.
- Meeting with the Dean: Colin and Naomi told the Dean about our year plan and our mental health training and he thinks it is a great idea.
Professional Development
- Workshops: First workshop will be with Stefano Algieri about the Changing Voice in early/mid October. The next one will be either Teresa Lescaudron about copyright or Debbie Summerland about Elementary school musicals but she wants to do it with someone else. The last one is with Kristen Malbranck about Creative Music Making with Children.
Finance
- Budget: Gill has heard back from EdUS but not MUSA. Gill will start bombarding MUSA with emails to get the numbers.
- Swag: EdUS heard back from their person but there is no bulk discount. Naomi has a link for a place we could use. Everyone should look at the webpage so we can discuss it next meeting.
General
- MHFA: November 7-8, $38 per person. Colin needs exact numbers ASAP.
- Semester Proposals: Eve-Marie and Doug’s proposals are due by Wednesday.
- Extra Project Reports: Everyone has to write a summary of what they have done for their extra project by the end of the month.
- Volunteer Fair: The representatives are going to the old building lobby so someone will meet them there to take them to the location. We have someone else from the School of Music of Montreal. Eve-Marie has not heard back from MNHB so she will email Audrey. We will make a sign for the volunteer fair.
- Drum Circle: Counselling services is super excited and wants to put us on their poster. We have to choose a date and then email MUSA to book the room. It is going to be on the first day of exams, December 9. There will be two sessions, 12-1 and 1-2.
Next Meeting: Next Thursday, same time, same place.
Adjournment: Doug motions to close the meeting at 20:02, Colin seconds.
