Welcome: Meeting begins at 16h44 motioned by Becky, seconded by Diana.
Announcements: Lab band concert on Tuesday! FAMEQ went well last weekend. MUSA GA on Thursday.
Approval of Minutes: Diana motions to approve, Sarah seconds.
Approval of Agenda: Sarah motions to approve, Dan seconds.
Agenda & Proceedings:
1. Professional Development:

2. Discussing on those requests that are properly done.
3. Presenting those requests and our recommendations to the council.
4. Meeting as often as required for a minimum of at least once a month.
5. Evaluate this committee’s own efficiency and report back to council.
- Choral Conducting workshop = call for volunteers and reply by Dec 6.
- Festivus
- Lab band
- option for future eNews so that more people will read it and be aware of events that we are putting on: (first one to) find the spelling mistake, secret word, etc and get a prize (ex. free coffee) from the MEdUSA Council!

1. Professional Development:
- Choral Conducting Workshop: VP Finance and VP Prof Dev will look at the budget and figure out how much money they have to give Patricia Abbott for working with the choral conducting students for the masterclass in January. The masterclass with Francois Ouimet is confirmed for January 16. Every participant will have 15 minutes of podium time and will be offered a one-on-one lesson the week before. The available repertoire includes:

- Upcoming MEdUSA funded workshops:
- Rock Band: Greg Weber and Nick Raz are interested in doing the workshop. VP Prof Dev will email them to see about potentially doing the workshop in January on one of the following dates: Jan 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, or 30.
- Norm Horner: VP Prof Dev will contact to possibly set up workshop(s) for next year.
- Jennifer Hayden (Liz’s CT): Jennifer is available on Wednesdays and VP Prof Dev will email her to see about potentially doing the workshop in January on one of the following dates: Jan 16, 23, or 30.
2. Winter Social Event:
- Liquor license printed: VP Prof Dev will print this, to be posted at the event.
- Liquor delivered/picked up: VP Prof Dev received it from Lisa Lorenzino.
- Key to kitchen: Liz will pick up the key up the day of the event.
- Decorations: Will use decorations in office from previous year.
- Grocery Shopping (budget listed item by item): Detailed grocery list needs to be made ASAP including types, brand, cost, and amount of food items. We will meet at 3pm to go grocery shopping.
- Managing RSVP list (before and at event): VP Social will make a list of all those who RSVP to the MEdUSA email.
- Extra utensils (serving spoons, etc) needed?: VP Social will buy trays and serving spoons that can be reused for future MEdUSA events.
- Publicity: Posters will be made and put up by the end of the week.
- EdUS Report: Sarah gave biographies and pictures to EdUS for website. Funding committee needs a Music Education representative for following purposes:

- MUSA Report: MUSA GA on Thursday at 5:30pm at C201.
- Sweatshirts: Latoya Belfond (VP Communications on EdUS, available to contact at [email protected]) is in charge of merchandise on the EdUS. Sarah emailed Diana the contact information for the liaison with American Apparel. Diana contacted EdUS’ VP Finance but hasn’t received a reply.
