VP Socials
- First Year Event: Great success. Naomi worked really hard! Thanks to Kathleen and Naomi for clean up. We need to be more alert about serving. Dressing up was awesome! We need a poster next time. There were lots of first years, which is exciting.
VP Professional Development
- QMEA Report: Huge discussion about the necklaces. Their biggest concern is how people are going to order them. They really want to set up a PayPal account but it costs money and they don’t want to pay, so they’re exploring options. They only want to offer tax receipts upon request. Theodora is having problems getting key chains, but progress is being made. They now want Naomi to burn Viva Sistema into the bridges. They really want to give Naomi a lot of credit for it. For pickup they were thinking FACE and possibly other locations. They want us to market them to people we know. They want to increase the cost to $25, but that seems a little much. They now want to make luggage tags, but that is not going to work. The video took them all summer to make, and took hours of paid work. Theodora did not take any of our advice, as apparently everyone liked it. Viva Sistema is doing really well: 100% return rate plus new participants.
- Workshops: Shawn’s workshop is ready to go! C-309 is booked for us to use. The time and date is set for Alain Juteau’s workshop. It’s on November 4 at 19:00. It’s in A-412. We’re still talking to Stephane Crete to confirm dates, either November 25 or 27 in the evening. Kathleen is contacting people that Lisa sent for next semester. For non-QBA next semester we’re thinking Kristen Malbranck for something about creation.
VP Academic
- QMEA Fundraiser: Naomi is waiting for QMEA to buy her key rings so she can make key chains. Becky has finally made the order form. But it’s really complicated. We’re thinking about making it simpler. We could also have them order online and then pay when they pick it up. MEdUSA is getting 10% of the sales. Kathleen, Naomi, and Becky will meet next week to write an email to QMEA.
- EdUS Report: There’s now a lot of space in the education library. So they’re going to make a 120 person classroom in the library with springy floors for SAPEK students and soundproof for music students. They are renovating their other biggest classroom this summer and want our suggestions. We can’t really think of anything we need up there. They are making a survey about media usage that they will send out to use to buy more media. The first 4 a 7 is October 3. They’re going to have a Rocky Horror Halloween event. They’re having a bi-election in October. They were happy we came to the BBQ. McGill open house is October 27. If you are on your third stage and having a problem with your CT or ST, you can let the EdUS President or VP Academic know.

- QBA Report: Elections are soon, so Becky will officially be part of the QBA executive council. The conference is coming up. It’s going to be awesome! If you are a part of QBA, you can advertise as a private teacher/tutor/substitute in their Enews for free.
- Extra Projects: Reports are due by the end of the month. Semester proposals are also due then.
Adjournment: Becky motions to close the meeting at 15:15, Kathleen seconds
